Cytotoxicity and Nematicidal Potential of Leaf Extracts of <em>Adansonia digitata</em> and Khaya senegalensis on Root Knot Nematode (<em>Meloidogyne incognita</em>) Associated with Cabbage

Purpose: Cabbage, an indispensable vegetable is often plagued by Meloidogyne incognita, a circumstance which lessens yield. Extracts of Khaya senegalensis and Adansonia digitata were appraised for possible nematicidal activity to check the menace M. incognita sequel undesirable effect synthetic nematicides in environment. Research Method: Leaf materials extracted organic aqueous extracts. The extracts used as soil admix at 0, 150, 200 250 g/Kg soil, randomized complete block design experiment. Carbofuran nematicide served positive Data was taken on vegetative growth, yield nematode population. Lethality various brine shrimp larvae also assessed. Findings: extract not productive ethanol methanol A. demonstrated weak against what observed cabbage plants treated with K. Cytotoxicity evaluation indicated that expressed cytotoxicity (500 µg/ml - 1000 µg/ml), while toxic shrimps (LC50 >1000µg/mL). active LC50 values <1000µg/mL strong <100µg/ml. from significantly (p=0.05) increased growth plants. Originality/ Value: These results signify species have probable use bio-pesticide industry, without any toxicity synthetics.
